Fieldwork Experiences 

Below you will find a comprehensive list of my field work experiences through my time at Xavier University. 

Level II Fieldwork

April 2025 - June 2025 

UC Health, West Chester Hospital 

West Chester, OH

Setting: Acute Care 

  • Level 3 trauma center

  • Worked closely with a variety of medical professions such as physical therapists, nursing staff, physicians, social workers, and care coordinators to ensure the patients needs were getting met and safe discharge plan made. 

  • Treated patients with a variety of different diagnoses consisting of neurological conditions, orthopedic conditions, other medical conditions.

  • Completed evaluations of patients to asses their needs to create a safe discharge plan, reviewed precautions, and create a personalized treatment plan. 

  • Educated patients on their medical precautions, energy conservation strategies, and environmental modifications if needed to support their recovery. 

January 2025 - March 2025 

Clermont County Educational Service Center, Monroe Elementary

New Richmond, OH

Setting: School-based 

  • Supported youth with developmental, behavioral, and sensory needs through occupation-focused activities that promoted participation in daily school routines. 

  • Completed observations and assessments to understand each child's strengths, challenges, and support needs to help guide discussions about classroom accommodations for 504 plans and Individualized Education Program (IEP). 

  • Collaborate closely with teachers, speech-language pathologists, psychologists, behavioral specialists, and families to create and implement IEP's. 

  • Graded activities to meet the students needs based on motor abilities, communication styles, and sensory preferences. 

Level I Fieldwork

October 2024 - November 2024

St. Elizabeth Healthcare

Crestview, KY 

Setting: Hand Therapy 

  • Observed evaluations, treatment sessions, and splinting/orthosis fabrication performed by licensed occupational and certified hand therapists. 

  • Assisted with clinical tasks such as preparing materials, setting up and coming up with therapeutic exercises, and supporting documentation. 

  • Practiced fabricating different orthoses/splints.   

August 2024 - October 2024

Jewish Hospital, Mercy Health 
Kenwood, OH
Setting: Acute Care 
  • Observed occupational therapists conducting evaluations, treatment sessions, and discharge planning for patients with a variety of acute medical conditions. 

  • Learned foundational concepts related to hospital safety protocols, vital sign monitoring, infection control, early mobilization, and functional participation in the acute phase of recovery. 

  • Practiced clinical skills; such as simple ADL setup, positioning, or guiding therapeutic activtiies.  

August 2023 - October 2023 

Good Samaritan Hospital 
Cincinnati, OH
Setting: Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and Outpatient Pediatric Therapy
  • Observed occupational therapists providing care to premature and medically fragile infants, including positioning, feeding support, positive touch, and sensory interventions. 

  • Learned foundational concepts related to neonatal development, medical stability, growth monitoring, and the impact of early sensory experiences on neurodevelopment. 

October 2023 - November 2023

Ripley-Ohio Dearborn Special Education, Aurora Elementary School 
Aurora, IN

Setting: School-based 

  • Created therapeutic activities to implement with school aged kids with a variety of different abilities and needs. 

  • Observed and participated in IEP goal planning sessions. 

  • Observed assessment being completed to assess fine motor skills. 

September 2024 - October 2024

Total Immersive Diversity Experience (TIDE) 
Guatemala 
Setting: international experience 
  • International fieldwork experience working alongside students from Universidad Rafael Landivar at the Esperanza Clinic treating patients with a variety of different diagnoses.
